i have the sneaking suspicion i’m going to be really disappointed if i look for fic, like, all i want is (to write) fic in which barnaby is really confused and slightly alarmed by his heart racing whenever kotetsu makes a comically overwrought expression or sticks his tongue out or falls off things
omg kotetsu is a shoujo heroine (clumsy, unintentionally irresponsible, kind to a fault, perpetually late) and barnaby’s the asshole hero unexpectedly moved by kotetsu’s cuteness
kotetsu trips over a step and lands in a puddle; he clutches his knee and hisses; barnaby stoops, handkerchief in hand, roses blooming behind him as he says, “clumsy oaf. here—” and then kotetsu shoves barnaby into the street and calls him a dick
honestly this is probably the most accurate summary of their relationship I have ever seen
