The Lives Within a Drop of Water

The slogan for the Nikon Small World competition is “Recognizing Excellence in Photography through the Microscope.” Feast your eyes on these images that record a different world so small that it fits into a drop of water

Follow the source link for a description on each of these microscopic beauties.

Half of invert zoology was with buckets of muddy water and things trying to escape the dissection pan, the other half was with a microscope. I will always be in awe of the sheer amount of weird stuff that exists without the vast majority of people even being aware of their existence.

CLOUDSCAPES!

These amazing photos of different clouds formation were captured by Luis Argerich.

Guo Pei’s work is always so epic and absurd. (More of her port here)

Most of this collection is from the Arabian 1002th Night (Youtube link!), and pretty much all accompanied by ridiculous shoes which I personally think ruin the effect of the movement (because the walking becomes jerky and stilted) BUT you totally have to watch the video to see all the sparkle.

WHOA 8D

So many feelings about fashion this morning

E-Everything I’ve ever wanted. I love seeing this on my dash.

Seriously. The costume fanatic in me wigs out every time this collection appears on my dash.

NYT: Portraits from the New York City Marriage Bureau
Yesterday was a beautiful day in New York!  I went downtown to see the scene and cheer for the newlyweds. The first couple we saw was two middle-aged men wearing matching silver vests and boutonnieres. They held up their marriage license and kissed for a long time, as dozens of people across the street cheered and passing cars honked their horns.  I didn’t even cry at my own wedding, but I cried then.
They hung around to talk to a reporter and then walked off by themselves, hand in hand, married, as the next couple came through the revolving doors to a fresh cheer from the crowd.

#resigning myself to crying over all of these

Two women who just got married: on the left, a Black woman in a short white dress holding a bouquet of flowers; on the right, a white woman in black (uniform?) with multiple facial piercings. They are holding hands and smiling brightly.
